I am trying to change a water filter on an Amana refrigerator. Directions say turn clockwise but the filter won''t release nor will it return to original position. What should I do?

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy),

Post the model number to the refrigerator so I can see which filter and housing is in You unit.

Thank You

Dennis

Reply to DennisH's Post: The frig came with the house. The model number isn't apparent on the front side and I am unable to move it. All I can tell you is that it is bullet-shaped.

It does not release after the quarter turn. I have tried jiggling it, pulling down and pushing up, but it won't release. Any suggestions?

No matter how far I turn the filter to the left, it doesn't break loose. There is a plastic piece which obscures where the filter connects to the water line.
