my refrigerator is 6 years old and about a year ago it started dripping water from the freezer vents into the refrigerator. Then it finally stopped and the back wall of the freezer froze. I unplugged the refrigerator for a couple of days and cleaned it all up then plugged it back in and no dripping water it just went back to freezing the back wall again. Please help, is it fixable and about how much am I looking at or do I need a new refrigerator?

Ok, In the center of yor control housing behind the two control knobs is a 1/2" hole , put a flat blade screw driver in the hole and you should be able to advance the defrost timer. Turn the timer until the unit shuts off, this is the defrost mode. If you hear the freezer heater heating up, popping and cracking , you know the timer is bad, If the heater is not heating try replaceing the heater limit. It is near the heater in the freezer, two wires going to it. Part # 4387503. Hope this helps!

Reply to Chuck G.'s Post: Is the heater limit and timer 2 different parts? I did what you told me and but I don't think it is defrosting. Should I continue to advance the timer to turn the refrigerator back on or wait to see if the timer turns back on by itself?

Hi, Obviously the frige most likely is back running. If you have a meter that will check continuity, When the freezer is cold the bi metal thermodisc should have continuity thru it. My gut feeling is this part is bad. / hope this helps!
