I just bought an LG bottom freezer fridge and am trying to reverse the doors. When I moved the hinges, etc. to the other side and tried to close the freezer door, it hits the top of the inside of the freezer and therefore will not close all the way. How do I fix this? The fridge is level, and the bolt holes for the hinges are correctly measured, but I cannot seem to get the door any "lower" so it will not bump. Please help!

No plastic washers or spacers. Would the specific model number help as well?

Yes, I have the manual and have followed the instructions completely. It still hits the inside of the freezer when I try to close it. By the way, it is LG model LBN22515SB. I have no trouble doing the actual reversing, it is just that the door winds up a bit too high and bumps.

The driver who delivered it said something about a "hinge kit", but we thought he just didn't know what he was talking about since he didn't know how to change the doors and since they were supposed to be "reversible". As for calling LG, I did this, but they said that is installation, and they only cover warranty repairs. If, indeed, I do need a hinge kit (whatever that is), do you think they will at least send one of those free to me since it should be covered as part of the reversible function of the doors?

That is a fine question! I will say this: I will never buy a major appliance from Best Buy again. They sub out their deliveries, and it took five refrigerators before we got one that wasn't dented! As for complaining to the store, I have tried to get the guy I purchased it from on the phone but he is always at lunch or gone for the day. I talked to his manager, but he is probably all of 20 years old, and has no customer service skills. Also doesn't know how to return a phone call. Oh well...thanks for letting me vent. One more question: should I try removing the plastic "sleeve" the pin fits into? The doors themselves have these while plastic "sleeves" that I assumed was to protect the finish and keep the pin holes from getting larger over time. However, if you think that will help, I will take them out.

no do not remove these. Theyre meant to be there. They fit snuggly over the pin and keep the doors straight.Sorry for your bad experience. You don't want to know my opinion of the big box stores.
