I have a Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus washing machine. Everything works fine except when it does the spin cycle the water does not drain. Here's the catch; when the cycle is done it is full of water, if I dial it back to spin it does spin and drain the water, I assume that means the pump is working and is'nt clogged with some clothing. So if I do a load of laundry and the cycle is over I have to manually turn the dial back to spin to drain the water extending my wait time. For some reason it goes through the cycle, rinses, spins but does'nt drain until evrything is finished and I dial it back to spin only. The model # is GSN2000HQ 0 So if I do a load of laundry , go to the super market or something and when I get back I can't put clothes in the dryer, I have to do the spin only cycle before it will drain. Whats wrong?

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),

Thank you for using Just Answer. I'm sorry that you are having a problem with you washer.

This could be an issue with the timer.

Does the machine do this in all of the washer cycles (Delicate, Normal, Heavy Duty, Handwash, Permanent Press)?

yes. Is the timer the unit that has the dial indicating all the cycles:normal, perm press, delicates etc? I haven't tried all the cycles but the normal and the perm press cycle both don't drain properly

2 of the cycles do have the problem. I am in the process of trying the other 2 cycles to see if they work. Does that mean it could be something else? If I go to spin only after a cycle it will drain though. It appears that if I let it do what it is suppose to do it wont drain the water but after it has finished I dial it back to spin only and it will drain. So the timer still isn't giving the right info to the drain cycle on the first go around.

tried delicate cycle and it drained the water and worked correctly. The next I will try the hand wash cycle and if it works I assume we will look at the timer being possibly bad and if that were the case do I remove it by taking off the control panel housing and removing the entire timer? Of coarse I will unplug machine before hand. Is it easy to remove? How much would I expect one to maybe cost and when i look up GSN2000HQ on internet it doesn't show up. I will have to order the timer some where. I will try that last cycle, i have to go out for a few hours tonight but will be back later to see. Thanks

thanks I will get on it as the hand wash cycle worked as well so I will take the timer off and replace it even tho we bought the washer for 75 dollars at a garage sell and the timer is 70 dollars its better than lugging it out and trying to find a new one. I may need some more help with this when it comes to checking it before i buy a new one. I'll keep in touch with you on this. thanks again
